A sunny Christmas is a funny Christmas.

Christmas in Florida is a pretty tragic cognitive dissonance. Now, for me to bring something silly like this up epitomizes my privilege because (1) I’m lamenting the flexibility and freedom I have to be in Florida (with family, mind you) and (2) I’m romanticizing the commercial vision of Christmas, as though there’s some sacred secular version of it that demands my faithful worship.Still, the silence of snow sure does befit a season that, at its best, is a time for meaningful reflection and human connection. In such spiritual, pure transcendence, the stillness and quiet of Nature’s blanket is most welcome. It invites the warmth that we ought to share with each other all year.

C’mon, man. What the hell is this? If this is your idea of an airing of grievances, then I…I don’t know what to do with you. I think we need to make the rule that your all posts next week need to be funny in some way. And I’m not talking Kafka funny; we need some Seinfeld funny from you.

Is this a grievance? I thought it moved in a pleasant, appropriately reflective direction. But yeah, I need to work on a different tone.

    Merry Christmas to you too.
