While in Ohio last week, we found ourselves watching The Wire Marathon on HBO. I watched the entire show back in 2009, after I was accepted to grad school but before I moved to Baltimore. Back then, I had no idea what anything in Baltimore looked like past the two or three blocks from campus. Now, while watching The Wire, I play the game I play with shows that take place in Manhattan: figuring out where each scene is shot. I do the same thing when watching House of Cards (which, if you didn’t know, is filmed in Baltimore). It’s a fun game to play when it’s just you and other Baltimoreans. But around the Ohio peeps, it’s just plain annoying, especially since there isn’t really any sort of Ohio equivalent. And why would there be? Ohio is dumb.
